© 2012 HEAVEN or HELL? 1. No one is righteous enough to get to heaven. “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one.” Romans 3:10 NOTE: Because God says no one is good, “good people” (as man defines it) go to hell. Saved people go to heaven. 2. All people are sinners in God’s eyes. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 3. No unrighteous person can enter the kingdom of God. “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?” I Corinthians 6:9a 4. Without God’s intervention, we are condemned to an eternal hell, because of our sin. “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” Psalm 9:17 “He that believeth not is condemned already.” John 3:18b 5. It is impossible to create our own righteousness. The best we can do is filthy. “For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.” Romans 10:3 “All our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.” Isaiah 64:6b 6. God provides the gift of His righteousness in the Person and work of Jesus Christ for us. “For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” II Corinthians 5:21 7. By faith alone you can have the righteousness of God that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ provides for you. “Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference.” Romans 3:22 8. God’s salvation and His righteousness is ONLY by faith, totally apart from any works of man. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8,9 “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.” Romans 4:5 NOTE: God’s salvation is not through a church, baptism, catechism, confirmation, being good, giving money to church, helping the needy or any other work of man. It is ONLY by faith in Jesus Christ alone. 9. You must repent and receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord. “Ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God.” (That’s repentance!) I Thessalonians 1:9b “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness (given as a gift); and with the mouth confession (public declaration that Jesus is your Lord) is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9, 10 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13 NOTE:  “Whosoever” may be saved. That means you - no matter how “bad” you may be. Jesus can save you, and He alone is the way to heaven. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6 10. You can know for certain that you have Eternal Life. “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” (I John 5:13) If you are not 100% sure that you would go to heaven when you die, why not settle it now? If you would like someone to pray with you or more fully explain God’s simple way to be saved, we would be happy to do so. But don’t delay, because the Bible also teaches: “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation?” Hebrews 2:3a If you have repented of your sin and asked Jesus to be your Savior and Lord, it is vital for your spiritual health and growth that you are reading and studying God’s Word and praying to Him every day. God also commands, not suggests, that you gather together faithfully in a Bible preaching and practicing church for fellowship with others and to lift up and encourage them. “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more as ye see the day (of Jesus’ return) approaching.” Hebrews 10:25 COME AND WORSHIP WITH US!
